“We are really excited to welcome Amna, Evadney, Katie and Baljit to the team. They are all experienced practitioners who between them have spent time working in-house and in Government, founding successful agencies, developing careers outside London and also abroad as well as bringing a track record of campaigning for a fairer and more equitable industry.

“We thank them for volunteering their time and expertise as we continue to advocate for the women in this industry and dismantle the blockers and barriers that can stop them progressing.”

Here are some words from our new committee members on why they wanted to join the committee:

Amna said: “I’m thrilled to be a part of WiPR. As a PR professional with experience in diverse markets, I believe in the power of collaboration and shared learning. This committee is a fantastic platform for fostering resilience, exchanging best practices, and empowering women in the ever-evolving PR landscape. With the committee’s focus on championing diversity and celebrating the expertise of our incredible industry – I believe I am at the right place at the right time!”

Evadney said: “I’m thrilled to be a new member of the Woman in PR committee.  As a new committee member, I am committed to helping to create a more inclusive industry by increasing representation and opportunities for Black women in public relations. By fostering a diverse and supportive community, we can empower Black PR professionals to thrive, amplify their voices, and drive the industry forward.”

Katie said: “Women in PR has a brilliant track record of advocating for women to help them progress into positions of leadership and I’m really excited to support its ambition to broaden support and membership outside of London. I have worked in agencies in the North throughout my career and I am passionate about the incredible talent that exists outside the M25 and removing geography and social background as barriers to success.”

Baljit said: “I am excited to join the Women in PR Committee. Having been a part of this platform for a number of years it has influenced my career, and I am eager to contribute actively, alongside great women. My goal is to enhance the platform’s inclusivity, attracting a diverse range of women from various backgrounds and career stages. Further, to drive a positive change and foster a more vibrant community across our members and our partners.  It will be a great year for WiPR – and I can’t wait to get started!

We encourage you to come and meet our new and existing committee members at our series of networking events over the coming months.

Women in PR will be seeking further committee members in January 2025, alongside its AGM, to help run its successful mentoring, networking and advocacy programmes.  For more information, contact info@womeninpr.org.uk.
