About this Event
Join us for our fourth, and final, webinar in our series, where we’ll be looking at the language of COVID19 and the power of words, metaphors, slogans and labels.
Leaders across the world have chosen to use different metaphors – war, storms, invisible enemies, Mexican hats – to change behaviours, shift political viewpoints and appeal to the hearts and minds of the public. The media, lobby groups and business leaders have also used language carefully and strategically at this time.
Simon Lancaster is one of the world’s top speechwriters, authors, trainers and TEDX speakers. He’ll unpick the narrative and the tools at play.
Simon first became a speechwriter in the late 1990s writing for members of Tony Blair’s Cabinet. He’s since written speeches for CEOs of many of the biggest companies in the world – including Unilever, HSBC, Intercontinental Hotels, Rio Tinto, Nokia and Nestle.
Please join us to learn more from Simon about how leaders have communicated COVID19 and how we can apply the same tricks and techniques in our work.
