Communicate for Change
How good are you at disagreeing, and are you ready for better conversations around challenging topics? Those are the questions she’s asking to help every person challenge their own biases and blind spots – because we all have them – and they can prevent us from having better conversations that bring about solutions for a fairer world. This lunch is based around Communicate for Change, a book for anyone interested in the conversations about class, gender and racial equity that have been happening in the UK and around the world, and anyone wanting to play their part in bringing it about.Genelle will focus on how challenging these conversations can be and what we can do to join in with confidence to look for solutions. We’ll hear about:
- How we can break through the singular narratives that drive behaviour and conversation
- How media often magnifies our biases and blind spots
- Reflects on how to be a better ally; in a way that is not just performative but creates meaningful, effective and lasting change
Thought-provoking and stimulating, we will consider how we can take that next step from learning and talking about anti-racism and unconscious bias, to putting it into practice and actively shaping an environment in which justice can thrive. Please join us on Thursday 21st October, at The Allbright, Mayfair to hear Genelle’s inspiring story, enjoy a fantastic lunch and network with senior women across the industry.
