The message this International Women’s Day was clear: less talk, more action. Now it’s time to hear from you, our members. Kickstart the day with an informative breakfast seminar that not only offers a chance to connect with your peers but also gives you a platform to voice your thoughts on the issues that matter. Together, we’ll listen, learn, and tackle the challenges head-on.
The event will begin with an introduction and overview of the The Missing Women Study by the CIPR, from Isobel Wilson-Cleary MCIPR, which sheds light on the barriers that prevent women from reaching senior roles in public relations. The study reveals a staggering shortfall of 3,910 female practitioners who have either left the industry mid-career or failed to progress to senior positions.
Following the presentation, Isobel and members of the WIPR committee will lead a series of roundtable sessions, diving into the five key interventions identified in the report:
- Leadership development and progression programmes
- Work pattern flexibility without career penalties
- Life stage and well-being support
- Cultural and behavioural change initiatives
- Structural and organisational reform
