WPR cements Wales presence with first group outside London
Women in PR UK, the independent networking organisation for women working in senior roles in PR and communications, has today launched its first ever group outside of London – with the creation of a new network in Wales.
The launch in Wales is a key part of Women in PR’s mission to increase the number and diversity of women in leadership roles in PR and communications and improve diversity and equality across the industry. The launch of the new network will enable women working in PR and communications in Wales to be better supported and represented through dedicated events, content and programmes.
Women in PR Cymru is co-founded by Laurian Hubbard, who is currently seconded to the Cabinet Office as a Brexit Campaign Lead from the Intellectual Property Office and Rachel Moss who is Head of Communications at the Wales Audit Office.
Both are award-winning Chartered PR Professionals and, between them, hold professional PR qualifications, memberships of the CIPR, PRCA and Government Communications Service. They also volunteer on CIPR and GCS Committees alongside their new voluntary roles as Women in PR Cymru Joint Presidents.
Getting involved
Women in PR Cymru is actively looking to welcome new members from all backgrounds. Those joining for the first year will be offered complimentary founder membership for one year as the network is established. An official Women in PR Cymru launch event will take place on Thursday 24 October at Kuku, Park Plaza Hotel, in Cardiff at 5-8pm – where more information will be provided on how to join and a forthcoming programme of events, workshops and mentoring opportunities.
The event is free, but attendees must sign up in advance by 5pm on Monday 21 October via this Eventbrite link.
