We are delighted to welcome former Home Secretary Jacqui Smith as our guest speaker for our inaugural 2020 Women in PR lunch. Jacqui was the first woman to hold the office of Home Secretary, serving in the Cabinet of Prime Minister Gordon Brown from 2007 to 2009, and was previously Minister for Women and Equalities.

Jacqui now heads up the Empower practice for communications and public affairs consultancy Higginson Strategy, which is campaigning for the professional equality of women in both the private and public sectors. In 2020, the campaign is focused on the issue of flexible working and how it can remove barriers to success.

Jacqui is a regular pundit for Good Morning Britain and co-hosts LBC’s weekly For The Many podcast. She will bring her lively delivery style and unrivaled insight to Women in PR. In the run up to International Women’s Day later that week, Jacqui will talk on how we level the playing field, giving equal weight to the strengths that both women and men bring to the world.
